Accomplishments 2015

Here’s a list of my accomplishments in the past year. Each of these six works can be seen on this website. All combine an image with writing, to tell a story.

IN THE HALLWAY. If you’ve lost touch with a good friend, be careful of what you’ll find in the hallway.

DEFY THE SNAKE. A pickle slice’s take on the desire to find a new life.

THE FIERY WINDS.  A novelette published as a 100-page softcover in May 2015. A US Army tank crew is investigated for a battlefield souvenir scheme that has deadly consequences.

CHARLESTON, REFRAMED.  A 14-piece photography and writing exhibit of Charleston, South Carolina.

PERKINS COVE: 72 HOURS. A 33-piece photography and writing exhibit covering the popular seaport village in Ogunquit, Maine.

IN AND OUT OF SIGHT. Someone’s shadow allows another’s light.

Thank you for reading, and keep watch during 2016. –Ara Hagopian.

About Ara Hagopian's The LITERATE Show

For over thirty years, I have enjoyed drawing beautiful shapes and writing complementary stories. The imagery tends to focus on our place in the world—whomever or whatever we may be. I am influenced by Twentieth Century history—I read vintage magazines, books and letters. Inspiration comes from visualizing human achievement and personal interaction—derived from people, places and things which may be obscure, but never insignificant. My pen-and-ink THE MAGNIFICENT RECOVERY was selected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for their 2008 summer art auction.
